Thesis Data
Why Thesis Data Is a Game-Changer for Copy Trading
The why behind a trade is the signal almost no data provider sells. Here is why thesis data changes copy trading and research.
Most trader data answers one question: what did they do? Thesis data answers the one that actually matters: why.
The number tells you what. The thesis tells you why.
A leaderboard shows you a trader made $2M this week. Their holdings show you which coins they hold. That is useful, but it is the outcome, not the reasoning. It tells you nothing about whether the trade was a high-conviction call or a lucky rotation, whether they still believe in the position, or what they saw that you did not.
A thesis is the note a trader writes when they open or add to a position: the case for why a coin runs, in their own words, tied to the exact trade. It is the difference between watching a number move and understanding the trade behind it.
Why this changes copy trading
Blindly mirroring a wallet is a losing game. By the time you see the buy you are already late, and you have no idea whether the trade still makes sense. The thesis fixes that.
- Judgment, not just imitation. When you know why a trader bought, you can decide if the reasoning still holds before you follow. A thesis that says "new launchpad, first mover, targeting the ATH" ages very differently from "quick scalp, out by tonight."
- Conviction is a signal. A trader who writes a detailed case and sizes up is telling you something a raw PnL number cannot. The high-conviction plays with real reasoning behind them are where the outsized wins come from.
- Early narrative detection. Watch the theses forming across the traders trading a coin and you see a narrative take shape in real time, before it shows up in the price.
Why almost nobody has it
Numbers are easy to scrape. Reasoning is not. Theses live inside the app, attached to individual trades and buried in a fast moving feed. There is no clean way to pull "every thesis this trader wrote" or "every thesis about this coin." Most data tools skip it entirely and hand you the numbers, because the numbers are the part that is easy to get. That is exactly why the reasoning is the edge: it is the part nobody else is selling.
What we expose
We capture the thesis stream continuously and serve it as plain JSON:
- Every thesis about a coin, so you can read the full case for a token.
- Every thesis by a trader, so you can read their reasoning across everything they have traded.
- The recent global feed of theses across all coins.
The numbers tell you a trader is good. The theses tell you why, and whether to follow them this time. That is the difference between a data feed and an edge.
